The nail art trend is still going strong, to the point of becoming a true artistic discipline on social media. A passion as well as a pastime for beauty lovers, it keeps revealing new techniques with the seasons. The latest nail art highlight—and our favourite at Manucurist for warming our hearts during winter: latte nail art.
For several years now, nail art has inspired and won over more and more fans. And for good reason: the world of manicures has never been so art-focused as it is today! After celestial and baby boomer, it’s time for Latte nail art at the start of 2022. In the heart of winter, let’s opt for warm colours that remind us of our indulgent macchiatos topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon. It comes in many forms: latte French manicure, creamy gradients, iridescent touches or marbled effects in cappuccino shades. Cosy, comforting and above all on-trend… Coffee Latte nail art is the trend we needed to warm up our chilly weekends and elevate our outfits from years gone by.
A winter Coffee Latte nail art workshop at home
And because there’s no place like home—or doing it yourself—it’s the perfect opportunity to stay cosy and avoid the cold with a manicure and tea-time workshop. Our Manucurist Latte Art set is designed not only to enhance your beautiful hands, but also to give you a self-care moment at home. With its five shades (including two from the new Macchiato collection: Chestnut and Orme), created for the popular Coffee Latte nail art, imagine your Sunday differently: wrapped in a cosy blanket, with a delicious hot drink, a scented candle and soft music to set the rhythm for your manicure session. A gentle, green and ethical beauty moment, too!
Coffee Latte nail art: how would you describe it?
The trend comes in several designs, each more stylish than the last. Naturally, we think of the traditional Latte effect, which reminds us of the delicious drinks from our favourite coffee shop. Chocolate, brown or macchiato shades meet creamy white to create beautiful caramel and marbled tones. As for designs, they range from marbling to graphic, minimalist designs and milky nail latte French manicures. Social media is flooded with Latte art visuals from all over the world, giving us plenty of inspiration!
Andréa’s tips, from our manicure expert, for creating a Latte Art nail look
With our Latte Art kit or a few polishes from the Macchiato collection, create your own design at home on a weeknight or during a cosy weekend afternoon. Here are our five tips for creating it:
-
Choose Manucurist Green Chestnut and Snow polishes.
-
Use a nail art brush or even a dotting tool! The trick is to clean your tools regularly to avoid applying too much product.
-
Start by applying a base coat to protect nails from pigments. Then move on to colour: apply the Chestnut shade to one half of the nail, then repeat on the other half with Snow. The more imperfect the colour distribution, the better! Next, use a nail art brush to draw zigzags from one colour to the other. The idea is to blend them together to create a “coffee foam” effect. Wait a good five minutes for the polish to dry, then apply top coat to make nails shine and protect them from knocks!
