Why choose a burgundy manicure?
Burgundy polish is an absolute essential to have absolutely in your vanity. This timeless shade navigates between couture elegance and minimalist modernity, enhances all skin tones, and visually lengthens your fairy-like fingers.
Decoding trends around burgundy
Burgundy nails
This is THE classic burgundy manicure, intense and warm. Inspired by autumn fashion, it brings an effortless touch of elegance and flatters all nail lengths and shapes. It’s a hit on both fingernails and toenails. In short, it’s a safe bet for any occasion, whether a cozy weekend by the fire or a chic evening out!
Blood Moon nails
This trend spotted on Selena Gomez blends chocolate and burgundy. The result? A dark, mysterious brown that flatters all skin tones and easily pairs with our everyday looks as well as evening outfits. The “day-to-night” manicure par excellence! With raw denim and a sweater for effortless style; with a more sophisticated outfit, the “blood moon” nails reveal their full glamorous potential.

Berry nails
A delicious variation that oscillates between cherry red, raspberry, and blueberry. Bright, this shade is made for those looking for more modern and less classic burgundy red nails. It works just as well on short nails as on longer claws and adds pep to our winter looks.
Black cherry nails
This shade mixes pure burgundy with a cherry undertone. Intense and enveloping, the black cherry suits all nail shapes and naturally complements any style. With a shiny top coat, the result becomes downright irresistible! Many celebrities have already embraced it: Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber… the “cherry squad” is well established!
Vampy burgundy
A deep burgundy lifted by a translucent black veil that creates a magnetic, almost theatrical effect. Dark and ultra-desirable, the vampy nails mark one of the hottest trends right now. Jennifer Lopez would certainly agree!

The burgundy that turns black: Hollyhock
Between red and black, Hollyhock chooses not to choose. This "dark" burgundy polish reveals an intense, rock, and ultra-modern shade – for those who love colors with a strong character. It’s the shade to turn to for the Blood Moon nails trend. You can also pair it with a matte Top coat for an irresistible Velvet nails effect.
The burgundies trending purple: Aubergine & Prune
Aubergine is that deep purple with enveloping highlights riding the wave of Aubergine nails. It’s worn like a chic accessory during your spontaneous outings, even to Sunday flea markets. We adopt it as an alternative to black for an ultra-stylish and contemporary manicure.
Burgundy with purple highlights, Prune brings a slightly fruity dimension, in the spirit of Berry nails. The elegance of a rich wine and the softness of a silky texture, combined in a single shade… Vibrant and ultra sophisticated. We love it!

Give in to the temptation of deep, dark Burgundy with Hollyhock, Aubergine, and Prune.
Pure burgundy: Dark Pansy
Dark Pansy embodies the absolute burgundy. Neither too brown, nor too black, nor too purple: just the right amount of intensity to evoke the Cherry nails revisited. It’s for you if you love timeless manicures. It pairs wonderfully with a cream knit, a satin black dress, or textured pieces (velvet, smooth leather, tweed...).
The nuanced burgundies: Violeta & Queen of Night
Violeta is a rosy purple that reveals a luminous burgundy. The meeting of a soft prune and a trendy purple, totally irresistible! Violetta loves light: with a cream sweater or a lilac cardigan, it’s very soft; with a prune satin top, it takes on a couture look; with jeans and a white shirt, it offers a fresh and stylish contrast.
As for Queen of Night (available in Green Flash™ from January 30, 2026), it is a deep purple with gray undertones. It plays with light and dresses your nails in mystery. It pairs wonderfully with a beige trench or a gray outfit brightened by a colorful detail. Its urban purple look allows it to fit into minimalist or creative styles. For makeup: wear it with a smoky eye, divine!

How to make your burgundy manicure last longer?
As with all dark manicures, nail preparation is key. Here are the recommended steps to optimize tenue:
Preparing your nails
- File the nails to give them a harmonious shape (rounded, square, or almond).
- Gently push back the cuticles with a bit of emollient and a cuticle pusher.
- Lightly polish with a preparatory file to open the keratin scales and thus optimize the tenue of the polish.
- Degrease and clean so the nail plate is ready to receive the color.
Don’t forget the protective base and the top coat
Before applying polish, always make sure to apply a layer of base coat suited to your chosen routine (Green Base Coat or Vitamin-enriched Base Coat Green Flash™).
After application, add glow and extend the tenue of the polish with a layer of Top Coat Sunshine (on Green™ polish) or Top Coat Green Flash™ (on Green Flash™ polish).

Good preparation, a protective base coat, and a matte or glossy top coat: give yourself every chance to keep your burgundy manicure for a long time.
We hydrate and protect
After application, nourish the cuticles by massaging a few drops of Huile Verte, which can be applied daily for healthy nails and a long-lasting manicure, especially during the winter season. Also remember to protect your nails from overexposure to water and chemicals by wearing gloves when doing household chores.
For what type of event should you choose a burgundy manicure?
We show off burgundy nails for…
- A chic evening: Hollyhock or Dark Pansy, in glossy or matte finishes.
- A professional meeting: Prune or Violeta, both elegant and softer.
- A wedding or formal event: Queen of Night for a couture effect.
- A fashion look inspired by celebrities: Aubergine in the style of Blood Moon nails popularized by Selena Gomez.
- Every day: Prune or Dark Pansy on short nails, effortless chic for any occasion.
