Butter nails: the new trend
What are we talking about?
After soap nails, here come Butter nails that highlight yellow polishes. But beware, not just any yellow. Forget neon yellow or too strong mustard yellow; we prefer butter yellow, a delicate, sunny, almost creamy pastel butter yellow. A subtle, fresh, and refined polish color that embodies the clean girl aesthetic and the quiet luxury spirit.
Originally? A manicure by Tom Bachik, the nail artist of the stars, for Selena Gomez. Then Hailey Bieber embraced this manicure trend in turn, pairing her butter nails with the iconic butter skin from Rhode, her skincare brand. The result: perfectly glowing and hydrated skin, and nails in total harmony. The combo was a hit.

Pastel yellow in all its glory on the podiums
It’s one of the key colors of the Spring-Summer 2025 Fashion Week runways. Jacquemus, Balenciaga, and Coperni, each major fashion house offered its interpretation of this shade of yellow. The trend now extends to the hands of the most discerning beauty addicts who want to achieve luminous nails like their favorite fashion icons.

How to wear yellow in your manicure?
Yellow can be intimidating. Yet, when well mastered, this sunny color flatters all skin tones and adds an ultra-modern touch to your look. Here are our best ways to wear Butter nails according to your desires.
Yellow in color block mode
Nothing beats a solid shade to let yellow express itself in all its splendor. Good news: our Green™ and Green Flash™ ranges offer a beautiful palette of yellow polishes to embrace this new manicure trend.
Looking for a yellow shade that shines without overdoing it? Mimosa is a tender pastel yellow, soft as butter, as fresh as a lemon! Wonderful on short, rounded nails, it particularly flatters fair skin. To wear Mimosa, Lemonade, and the whole palette with long tenue, find the selection in yellow semi-permanent polish to cure under an LED lamp.
Looking for a more sparkling shade? Opt for Lemonade, a pale tangy yellow polish dotted with glitter, like the bubbles of a frozen sorbet. The perfect color for medium to dark skin tones.

With Shell, yellow softens a bit to give way to a nuanced and minimal white. Both raw and refined, this soft color enhances fair and tanned skin alike. For a barely there manicure!
More festive, Gold is a velvety glittery gold with a jewel effect, like a shower of light on your nails. Perfect for luminous nails day and night, all year round! Dare to wear it on long almond-shaped nails to emphasize its ultra-glam side.
To assert your love for yellow, nothing beats Gold Button (available in Green™ polish only): a concentrated burst of sunshine at your fingertips, joyful, bold, and decidedly summery. We love wearing this flashy yellow on short nails and tanned skin!

In nail art, dare to be creative
Yellow polish colors are perfect for creating graphic and delicate nail art designs. Here are some ideas spotted on social media and in the studios of our favorite nail artists:
Butter glazed nails: fall for these Butter nails with an irresistible icy finish, super easy to do: apply a coat of Green Mimosa polish on which you dust a veil of White Glazed Effect powder and seal everything with the Top Coat Sunshine.

Mimosa & Lisa Lilas gradient: this color gradient subtly blends the tender yellow of Mimosa and the soft lilac of Lisa Lilas, inspired by the flower fields of the South for a delightfully summery look.

Flower nail art: yellow floral motifs drawn with a dotting tool on a Pale Rose polish applied as a base for a 100% spring bohemian vibe.

Pearl nail art: pearly reflections on a pale yellow background, for a precious, textured, and unique touch. A beautiful mix between the pearly white of Moon and the iridescent yellow of Lemonade.
Taking care of your yellow manicure
While yellow brightens the nail, it can also reveal imperfections if the application is not careful. Three key words: prepare, protect, hydrate.
Prepare the nail
A good manicure always starts with a clean and healthy base, the result of careful preparation. Begin by gently filing your nails to the desired shape. Apply a bit of Effective Emollient to soften the cuticles, then push them back with a cuticle pusher to get a clean and neat contour. Finally, gently buff your nails with the Preparation Lime to smooth the surface and facilitate polish application.

Apply base and top coat
Base coat and top coat are your best allies to extend the tenue of your yellow manicure. By applying a layer of Green Base Coat (if you chose a Green™ polish) or a layer of Vitamin-enriched Base Coat Green Flash™ (if you chose a Green Flash™ polish), you even out the nail plate and thus facilitate polish application. As for the Top coat Sunshine (for Green™ polishes) or Top Coat Green Flash™ (for Green Flash™ polishes), they bring radiance and shine to your manicure while sealing the color.

Hydrate, again and again
Remember to massage your nails, even manicured, every day with a drop of Green Oil and/or a bit of Perfecting Concentrate to properly hydrate and nourish your cuticles.

Halfway between tangy freshness and milky softness, butter nails mark the return of soft, luminous, and decidedly modern shades of yellow. Whether pastel, iridescent, or glittery, yellow brightens your manicure ☀️ Choose it according to your mood, nail shape, skin tone, and even your current playlist!
