Which nail polish colours should you wear for summer 2025?

9 min to read

Summer nails loading… This summer 2026, nails see life in technicolor! Colors become bolder, finishes glossier, effects brighter. Spotted on the runways, the season’s trendy shades (vitamin orange, lagoon blue, neon pink…) give a healthy glow and awaken our looks with just a few brush strokes. Looking for a polish that enhances your complexion? The perfect manicure under the parasol? The nail art that will make you the star of August? We tell you everything. Meanwhile, no doubt: summer will be HOT in colors.

What are the nail trends for summer 2026?

The big comeback of color

After several seasons dominated by nude and minimalist palettes (which were starting to bore us a bit, let's admit it!), color is FINALLY making a big comeback. The spring-summer 2026 fashion shows put it back in the spotlight: electric blue, mandarin orange, poppy red, aqua green, vibrant fuchsia... so many bold shades that bring new energy to the looks. Fashion experts confirm the trend, noting a real shift towards more expressive, joyful, and daring looks. This desire for bright colors reflects, according to them, a search for optimism and spontaneity. Bright yellow, lagoon blue, or pop pink, the sunny and vitamin-rich shades instantly awaken our wardrobe. On the manicure side, we ride this ultra-colorful wave by daring saturated colors, glossy finishes, and shiny effects to add a playful and ultra feel-good touch.

Vibrant colors, Jelly and Glazed effects: summer 2026 manicures will be dazzling!

The Jelly effect for nails you can bite into

Inspired by translucent candies and syrupy textures, the Jelly nails trend has won us over. The polishes with transparent finishes play with light and give our nails that irresistible effect, inspired by Korean manicure. This is the case with the red, pink, and coral polishes from our Sweetscape collection (Glacé, Pink Sorbet, Sugar Plum, Pomme d’amour, Twizzle). Five new Green™ polishes perfect for a summer manicure totally on trend.

Glazed and pearly effects for magnetic nails

Glazed nails are also climbing the podium of nail trends for summer 2026. The soft chrome and pearly finish created by Manucurist's Glazed powders (available in 4 colors: Blue, White, Pink, Golden) offers holographic reflections and an amazing magnetic effect. The result is stunning on nude polish as well as on more pigmented red or burgundy polish.

Nail colors to adopt for summer

Electric Feel: the collection that electrifies summer

Chromed reflections, glazed effect, energetic shades, these 3 new polish colors capture the sun’s rays and vibrate under luminous halos (available in Green™ polish and Green Flash™ semi-permanent polish from June 12, 2026).

With its velvety aura inspired by botanicals, Halo is a soft milky mauve with a frosted effect. A very trendy color, noticed on the Valentino catwalk.

Second option: Bloom, a vibrant pink with blue undertones that reveals a magnetic intensity under neon light for an ultra-bright floral touch. A standout color at Erdem this season!

Groove, also seen on the Vaillant runway, is that unique pearly green, infused with an electric plant energy. With it, we definitely play the retro-pop card.

This summer, electrify your nails with Halo, Groove, and Bloom.

Lagoon Shades: aquatic blues and lilacs

On the beach or by the pool, aquatic and lagoon shades plunge our nails into an ocean of happiness.

The latest addition to the Active™ range, the Active Plump Aqua Glazed (available from July 3, 2026), embodies this influence. It dresses nails with an airy blue veil, seen on the Mugler runway, and offers a plumped finish and a water shine effect. Bonus: its formula enriched with collagen and bioactive wakame extracts helps preserve nail keratin. We (already) can’t live without it!

In the Green™ and Green Flash™ versions, we highlight Lisa Lilas, a pastel lilac inspired by summer sunsets and the pop silhouettes of the 90s. A very soft color that adds a “retro-cool” touch to our hands, seen on the Stella McCartney runway.

Finally, Ultramarine is perfect for intense blue nails, between the depth of the abyss and electric reflections. Vibrant like no other, it marks a manicure with character. Victoria Beckham even showcased it during her latest show.

Juicy & Spicy: the fruity colors

This season, we also celebrate gourmand... and spicy shades. Ouch caramba! Lemonade is a pale yellow glitter polish, inspired by iced lemonades on summer days... A fresh shade that brightens nails and plays wonderfully with the sun’s reflections. A color also having its moment of glory at Loewe.

And here is one that is divine on dark skin: Tangerine, a neon light orange, a polish with mandarin nuances, joyful and spontaneous, that instantly awakens your hands. A vitamin-rich shade also noticed at Rabanne.

At Valentino, we are hypnotized by this striking raspberry red, almost incandescent. For nails, Spicy is this bright red polish with pinkish nuances, inspired by retro pop palettes and the vibrant colors of the 80s. A shade that catches every eye.

Nude & Natural: the effortless chic essentials

Of course, you know, we never forget fans of minimalist manicures. Very discreet nudes remain essentials to shine (in moderation) in summer.

Balenciaga favors milky pink. For nails, in the same spirit, we choose Milky Pink, a delicate pink inspired by the powdery tones of a silk veil. A soft and glossy shade ideal for a nude base or a clean girl manicure.

This warm beige with apricot undertones is Pink Sand. An enveloping shade inspired by the golden lights of late afternoon, for a 100% effortless chic manicure. Also highlighted at Chloé.

Last but not least: Dove Beige, a subtle grayish beige, tinged with mineral and powdery nuances. A balanced color, easy to wear for a second-skin effect and a sophisticated manicure, like this Alaïa dress.

Chrome and pearly nails

The chrome and pearly finish effects add a more couture dimension to the manicure. Capture the light with:

  • Active™ Plump for a plumping effect and a pearly baby rose finish.
  • Fairy or Bronzé in all-over Green™ or Green Flash™ to dress your nails with a holographic pearly white or a sparkling copper brown.

Which nail color to choose according to your style?

For a chic manicure

Bet on nude and glossy shades like Milky Pink, Dove Beige, and Pink Sand. These polishes visually lengthen the fingers and easily match a light summer wardrobe or, conversely, a color block outfit.

For a fun and colorful manicure

Favor vibrant colors like Spicy, Tangerine, Bloom, or Groove to add pep to your tenue. Shades that work particularly well on medium and dark skin tones.

For a natural manicure

The Active™ care polishes provide a clean, fresh, and luminous finish that is very easy to wear – to enhance your fairy-like hands with a few brush strokes, without overdoing it.

For a trendy manicure

The jelly, glazed, and chrome effects are THE effects not to miss this season. Play freely with the transparency of Jelly nails to add depth to short nails. And make a splash with the moiré effects of Glazed powders, which transform your polish into precious fabric.

Trendy nail arts for summer

Wavy design

The wave nail art, with wavy patterns, returns every year among the summer nail trends. To change from aquatic designs, here are 2 arty versions:

  • Green Wave: apply Pistachio as a base and draw a vertical wave with Lime on half of the nail.
  • Spicy Snake: choose Hortencia as a base on which you draw red serpentine lines with Spicy using a liner brush.

Twist your summer nail arts with wavy nails and snake nails.

Dots & stripes

With graphic stripes and other polka dots, add a delightfully retro very summer 26 touch to your nail arts. Here are 2 inspirations for joyful and colorful nail arts, easy to customize:

  • Summer Stripes: apply Nebula as base and Tangerine on the accent nail. Then paint several thin or thicker stripes, vertical or horizontal, with Spicy, Riviera, and Ultramarine using a nail art brush.
  • Pop Polka Dots: apply Nebula as base and sprinkle the nail with red dots using Spicy and a dotting tool.

Summer gradients

Gradient nails are making a strong comeback this summer. Here are our favorites in color gradients:

  • Aura Blue & Orange: apply Ultramarine as base. Dab a spot of Tangerine surrounded by Ultramarine on a sponge, then stamp onto the nail until you get the desired halo effect.
  • Red Gradient: choose Hortencia as base. Apply 2 strokes of Spicy and Tangerine on a sponge, then dab on the free edge of the nail to create a sunset nails effect.

For summer, bet on the hypnotic effect of aura nails and ombré nails.

Semi-permanent polish or classic polish: which option to choose for summer?

Classic polish

Classic polish remains ideal for those who like to change colors regularly and want to try lots of different nail arts on their nails this summer. Easy to apply (don’t forget the base coat and top coat) and remove, classic polish allows you to vary looks according to your mood and vacation destinations.

Semi-permanent polish

Semi-permanent polish is a must-have for stress-free vacations. Apply it before leaving for a long-lasting manicure that withstands waves and sun. The top coat Xtrem Flash™ further maximizes tenue: the polish lasts without chipping up to 21 days and removes in 10 minutes, without filing or acetone. Its gel texture acts as a protective shield to create that rounded, shiny effect we love. Note: this top coat is only compatible with Green Flash™ polishes.
